Lynn started in the insurance business in 1977 in Sioux City, Iowa. Lynn has his CIC designation (Certified Insurance Counselor) and specializes in managing commercial accounts, with an expertise in tough casualty lines for truck or trailer dealers, trucking companies, manufacturers, and contractors of all kinds. Lynn has served on the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce Board, The Better Business Bureau of Sioux City, United Way of Siouxland Campaign Chair, St. Lukes Hospital Board, multiple church boards, and is an active participant with the Independent Agents of Iowa. He also served for five-years as a director on the Board of a major cargo insurance company, as well as serving on Producer Agency Councils for many of the insurance companies the agency represents
In 1995, Keith Shellhammer joined Lynn Mills to form Mills-Shellhammer and Associates, Inc. where he serves as an officer and director of the agency. Keith has 40 years of industry experience and specializes in larger commercial accounts involving workers’ compensation and product liability insurance coverage. He manages large line accounts on a local, regional and global arena and prides himself on having long term relationships with many of the area’s most prestigious businesses.
Keith is active in community affairs.
Joe is a 1987 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a degree in accounting and finance and business economics. He entered the insurance industry in 1990 after working for 2 ½ years in Chicago as a public accountant with Price Waterhouse. From 1993 to through 2002 he owned his own independent insurance agency in Sioux City, before becoming a partner in Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz & Associates, Inc. in 2003. He earned the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1998 and Associate Risk Management (ARM) designation in 2004 from the Insurance Institute of America.
Specializing in commercial insurance and employee benefits, his clients span a wide range of industries. An emphasis in his practice is serving the insurance needs of local not-for-profit organizations.
Joe is a current member of Allied Insurance’s Agent Advisory Council.
David Shellhammer joined the agency in 2003 after years of experience in the communications and networking industry. David is a lifelong resident of Siouxland with an understanding of our community. David and his wife, Kim, share six children – John, Brett, Parker, Connor, Katie and Cameron – with this experience he can share how to best protect home and family.
David is licensed in life and health as well as a producer in all aspects of commercial, personal, property and casualty insurance
Kyle specializes in property and casualty insurance for commercial customers. He prides himself on analyzing customers’ insurance needs and developing a tailored risk management program for his customers.
His real insurance passion focuses on workers compensation. As a Certified Work Comp Advisor, he enjoys helping customers reduce their overall cost of risk associated with workers compensation.
Kyle is a 2004 graduate of Dakota State University with a bachelor of business administration degree in management, finance, and management information systems. In 2006 he earned his Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU) desgination.
Mark Lennon is the most recent addition to Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz & Associates. Mark was born and raised in Sioux City and has over 20 of sales experience.
Mark is licensed in commercial and personal insurance, as well as life and health insurance. His consultative approach allows Mark to tailor specific insurance programs to meet his clients' unique needs.
Mark is a graduate of Briar Cliff University with a BA degree in Business Adminstration with an emphasis in Marketing & Human Resource Managment. Mark is very active in the youth and men's groups at his his church.
Casey Mills is a recent addition to the Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz team . Focusing on commercial insurance, he specializes in crafting a suite of services tailored for his client needs, including proactive services that reduce the risks of losses, drive down premiums and add to the bottom line.
Born and raised in Sioux City, Casey joined Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz following a career as a Chicago based Management Consultant. He earned his MBA at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management and holds a bachelors degree from the University of Nebraska.
Patty joined the agency in 1997 as accountant/system administrator. Prior to that, she worked in the tax department of a public accounting firm. Patty graduated summa cum laude from Briar Cliff University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. She is an active member of the ASCNet Iowa Insurance Users group, currently serving on the Education Committee. She also is the Treasurer at First United Methodist Church
Dawn joined the Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz team in May of 2007 after a 15 year career in the Human Resources field. Her primary positions held in those 15 years were Recruiter, Benefits Administrator, Generalist, HRIS Administrator and Training and Development Manager.
Specializing in Property and Casualty insurance for commercial clients, she services a wide variety of business industry exposures ranging from manufacturers, distributors, contractors, property management companies, churches, and much more.
Dawn is an active member of the ASCNet Iowa Insurance Users group. She is currently serving on the Foodbank of Siouxland Board as Treasurer and the Redeemer Lutheran church council as Member at Large. She has also served on the board of Sioux City Growth Organization.
Geri started with Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz & Associates, Inc. in 2007. After working for more than 20 years on the medical side of insurance, working with both an insurance company and in an insurance agency; she moved to the Property Casualty side when joining Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz & Associates, Inc. Geri specializes in the trucking industry, in both long and short haul accounts with many larger difficult fleet accounts. Her experience in the transportation industry is used to service her accounts on all levels and lines of coverage. Geri enjoys working in the transportation industry, helping those that may not understand the industry to work through their insurance needs
Kali is a 2012 graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and Management. She joined Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz & Associates in February of 2015 and is a fully-licensed commercial insurance account manager. In her free time, Kali enjoys golfing, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Michaela graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 2014. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Management. Michaela joined Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz & Associates in July of 2016. She is fully-licensed in commercial insurance. Michaela enjoys spending time with family and friends, boating, and being active in recreational activities.
Cindy Hauser joined the agency in 2001 as a customer service representative in our personal lines department. She broadened her education by obtaining her CISR designation in 2009. Cindy interacts with our personal lines customers by phone or in person to answer questions regarding product or service, provides information concerning pricing and changes in policies, receives and processes new and renewal polices, quotes new business and offers additional products to our existing customers.
In February 2015, Amy Lechtenberg joined Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz and Associates. Amy has worked in the insurance industry for over 15 years with several years experience in workers compensation, homeowners, auto and business claims. Amy has her Property and Casualty license with the State of South Dakota; her SCLA designation. She is always happy to lend her claims expertise to assist our clients. She is also a proud member of Junior League of Sioux City.
In March of 2016 , Sharon Collins joined the Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz and Associates team. She has a BS degree in Organizational Management. She moved from Monroe, New York to Iowa with her husband and kids in 2013. In NY she was a Realtor for 8 years. She is a Girl Scout Leader and a member of Junior League of Sioux City, and an active volunteer within her community.
